Amex Resy credit is usually used by enrolling first , then spending at an eligible U.S. restaurant that’s live on Resy, and paying with the right Amex card. After that, Amex posts the statement credit automatically; depending on the card, the credit amount and timing vary.

How it works

  • Enroll the card in the Amex benefit first.
  • Dine at a U.S. restaurant that is listed on Resy and accepts American Express.
  • Pay the bill with your eligible Amex card; you generally do not need to prepay through Resy for the credit to trigger.
  • The credit is then issued to your statement after the qualifying purchase.

What counts

Eligible purchases include in-person dining at qualifying Resy restaurants, some prepaid experiences booked through Resy, and transactions processed through Resy Pay.

Non-eligible purchases can include gift cards, merchandise, third-party delivery apps, and some charges processed outside the restaurant’s normal system.

Card amounts

  • Amex Gold: up to $50 semi-annually, up to $100 per year.
  • Delta SkyMiles Platinum: up to $10 per month, up to $120 per year.
  • Delta SkyMiles Reserve: up to $20 per month, up to $240 per year.
  • Amex Platinum: up to $100 per quarter, up to $400 per year.

Practical tips

  • Check that the restaurant is live on Resy at the time you pay.
  • Use the benefit on actual dining charges, not on gift cards or delivery orders.
  • Don’t wait too long to use it if your version of the credit is monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual, because unused amounts do not roll over.

Simple example

If you have the Amex Gold, enroll the card, book or visit a qualifying Resy restaurant in the U.S., and pay the check with that card. Amex should then post the eligible statement credit automatically.
