dua for opening fast

Here is the commonly recited dua for opening (breaking) the fast at iftar: Arabic:

Transliteration:
Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu wa ‘ala rizqika aftartu.

Meaning (English):
“O Allah, I have fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and I break my fast with Your sustenance.”

You can recite this right as you begin to break your fast (with a date or sip of water) and then make your own personal duas, as this is a blessed time for supplication.
