have the epstein files been released

Epstein-related documents have been released in several large batches in 2025, but not every “Epstein file” is fully public yet, and much of what is out is heavily redacted.

What has been released so far?

  • The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by President Donald Trump on 19 November 2025, legally required the Justice Department to make all unclassified Epstein-related records public within 30 days, in a searchable, downloadable format.
  • In response, the DOJ and Congress have released hundreds of thousands of pages of material on a rolling basis, including photos, flight logs, investigative records, jail CCTV, and court documents.

Key 2025 drops

  • Earlier in 2025, the DOJ and Attorney General’s office released a “first phase” of declassified Epstein files, covering his abuse of underage girls in New York and Florida.
  • The House Oversight Committee has separately posted tens of thousands of pages from both the DOJ and Epstein’s estate, including flight records, emails, and surveillance footage, though members of both parties say most of it adds little that is truly new.

Are “all” the files out?

  • By the statutory deadline of 19 December 2025, the DOJ had released a massive tranche of files but acknowledged it was still reviewing additional material and would continue releasing documents “on a rolling basis.”
  • Reports note that some files vanished from public pages after being posted and that the government has not yet clearly met the law’s requirement to release all Epstein files, with many pages fully or largely blacked out to protect survivors and other sensitive data.

Bottom line (Quick Scoop style)

  • Yes: Large “Epstein files” releases have happened and are ongoing in 2025.
  • No/Not yet: The full, unredacted universe of Epstein-related records is not completely public, and what exists is fragmented across DOJ releases, a DOJ “Epstein library,” and congressional document dumps, with significant redactions and some controversy over possible withholding or removal of records.
