how does the new perk system work in dbd
Quick Scoop
Dead by Daylight’s perk system is mostly about unlocking perks on specific characters, then using them across your account more efficiently than before. The big change is that prestige progression now shares that character’s perks to other Killers or Survivors, and you no longer lose items or add-ons when you prestige them.
How it works
- Raising a character’s prestige level unlocks that character’s perks for every other applicable character on your account.
- The first three prestige levels are the important ones for perk sharing: each tier improves how much of that character’s perks carry over.
- General perks that are not tied to one character still unlock through normal Bloodweb progression.
Example
If you prestige The Trapper, other Killers can start getting access to perks like Unnerving Presence , Agitation , and Brutal Strength through the shared progression system. By prestige 3, those perk tiers are maxed out for the rest of your Killer roster.
Shrine changes
The Shrine of Secrets also changed: you can buy a chosen perk tier directly, and higher tiers cost more. If you already own tier 1 of a perk, later tiers are cheaper to buy.
What players liked
This system cuts down the old grind a lot because perks are no longer so locked to one character’s Bloodweb. It also makes experimenting with builds easier since strong perks become available account-wide faster.
TL;DR: prestige a character to share their perks across your account, use Bloodweb for general perks, and buy perk tiers more directly from the Shrine now.
