In the US Open (tennis), the number of sets depends on the type of match:

• Men’s singles: best of five sets (first to win 3 sets wins the match).

• Women’s singles: best of three sets (first to win 2 sets wins the match).

• Men’s and women’s doubles: best of three sets.

Each set is normally played to 6 games, and if the score reaches 6–6, a tiebreak is played to decide the set.
