how to check what windos i hav e

Here’s the quickest way to check what Windows you have:

  1. Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to System.
  3. Click About.
  4. Look under Windows specifications for:
    • Edition : Windows 10 Home, Pro, Windows 11, etc.
    • Version : the Windows release.
    • OS build : the build number.

Faster method

  • Press Windows key + R.
  • Type winver and press Enter.
  • A window will pop up showing your Windows version and edition.

Another option

  • Open Start , type System Information or msinfo32 , and open it.
  • You can also use Command Prompt or PowerShell with systeminfo to see the OS name and version.

A simple example: if About says Windows 11 Pro , then that’s your edition; the Version and OS build tell you exactly which release you’re on.

If you want, I can also show you how to check whether your PC is 32-bit or 64-bit.
