How to do a swerve in AOTR

A swerve in AOTR is usually the overhead kill movement: hook the upper torso, swing up over the Titan’s head, then cut back down into the nape. The key is precise timing with your up/down movement and staying tight to the Titan so you don’t overshoot it.

Basic steps

1. Hook the upper torso of the Titan.
2. Pull upward to get above the head.
3. Swing back down into the nape.
4. If you drift too far, correct with a quick back flip or re-hook into the nape.

Important tips

• It works best on small abnormal Titans and generally on abnormal Titans.

• Use it when Titans are spread out, so you’re less likely to get grabbed by nearby enemies.

• After the kill, side dash if other Titans are close, instead of dropping straight to the ground.

Common mistakes

• Hooking too low instead of the upper torso.
• Swerving too wide and flying over the Titan’s back.
• Trying it when Titans are packed together, which makes grabs more likely.
