how to get second ascendancy poe 2

To get your second Ascendancy in Path of Exile 2, you need to clear the next qualifying Ascendancy trial after your first one: either the second floor of the Trial of the Sekhemas or the Trials of Chaos in Act 3, then use the altar/reward room at the end to claim the next 2 Ascendancy points. The trial you use depends on which key item you have and which route you prefer.

How it works

  • Trial of the Sekhemas route. Finish the first Ascendancy trial in Act 2 to unlock your class, then later complete the second floor version to earn the next Ascendancy points.
  • Trials of Chaos route. In Act 3, defeating Xyclucian, the Chimera unlocks the Trials of Chaos; completing that trial also awards Ascendancy points.
  • Token matters. Sekhemas uses a Djinn Barya token, while Chaos uses an Inscribed Ultimatum token.
  • You can only use the trial if the token matches the point reward you’re aiming for. Higher Ascendancy point rewards require higher-floor or higher-trial-count versions of those tokens.

Fast path

  1. Finish the first Ascendancy trial to unlock your subclass.
  1. Progress to the next eligible version of the trial.
  1. Clear the trial and interact with the end altar to take the points.
  1. Spend the points in your Ascendancy tree.

Common confusion

A lot of players call this the “second Ascendancy,” but in practice they mean the second pair of Ascendancy points after the first unlock. The game’s progression is tied to trial difficulty and token type, not just character level.

TL;DR

For the second Ascendancy points in PoE 2 , complete either the 2-floor Sekhemas trial or the Trials of Chaos with the right token, then claim the points at the end.
