how to get the smoker in scum

You get the Smoker in SCUM by building it from the new crafting/base- building option, not by looting a special quest item. The current update materials point to a recipe of 20 wood, 15 nails, 14 scrap metal, and 10 bolts, and it needs to be lit before you can use it for smoking meat or fish.

How it works

1. Place the Smoker in your base or camp area.
2. Light it first so it is running.
3. Add fuel, then put in raw meat or fish.
4. Add salt; pepper is optional.
5. Wait for the smoking timer to finish, which is shown as a long curing process in current update coverage.

Notes

• It is meant for preserving food, not for immediate cooking.
• Community posts from older versions show players talking about smoking cigarettes, but that is a different older item discussion and not the crafting Smoker object.
