what happens if your triple captain doesn't play

If your Triple Captain doesn’t play at all in a Gameweek, you don’t get the triple-boost on another player; normal captaincy rules apply instead.

Quick scoop: what actually happens

  • If your Triple Captain starts the Gameweek but never gets on the pitch:
    • The armband moves to your vice-captain, who then scores double points, not triple.
* Your Triple Captain chip is still used up for that Gameweek.
  • If your Triple Captain’s match is postponed:
    • If the match is moved outside that Gameweek, your triple-captained player scores zero for that week, because the game no longer belongs to that Gameweek.
* The rescheduled match will give points in the new Gameweek only, with **no Triple Captain boost** , since the chip is already spent.
  • In a Double Gameweek:
    • If your Triple Captain plays one match but is rested in the other, you just get triple points from the game they do play , and triple zero from the one they miss.
* There is no “auto-triple” on your vice-captain for the missed game.

Mini “forum-style” recap

“Does my vice get tripled if my Triple Captain doesn’t play?” Nope. You either get triple on your original captain’s score, or – if he doesn’t feature at all – double on your vice-captain.

TL;DR

  • No appearance for your Triple Captain → vice-captain gets double , not triple.
  • Postponed beyond the Gameweek → no points that week, chip still used.
  • Double Gameweek but only one appearance → you get triple from that one game only.
