what is the olympic motto?
The Olympic motto is “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together” , which in Latin is “Citius, Altius, Fortius – Communiter.”
It was originally just “Citius, Altius, Fortius” (“Faster, Higher, Stronger”), a phrase adopted by modern Games founder Pierre de Coubertin in the late 19th and early 20th century to capture the idea of constantly pushing human limits in sport. In 2021, the International Olympic Committee officially added the word “Together” to emphasize solidarity and the idea that athletes – and the world – achieve more when they strive for excellence collectively, not just individually.
