when are the tall ships coming to nyc

The tall ships are coming to NYC July 3–8, 2026 , with the main parade on July 4 and a smaller opening parade on July 3. They’ll then be docked for public viewing and tours from July 5–7 at locations around New York Harbor.

What to watch

  • July 3: Warm-up parade of smaller traditionally rigged vessels.
  • July 4: Main International Parade of Sail, with the tall ships moving up the Hudson River.
  • July 5–7: Dockside visits and free boarding with reservations at select piers.
  • July 8: Departure day for some of the ships.

Best viewing spots

  • Brooklyn Bridge Park for the July 3 parade.
  • Hudson River Park and Battery Park for free Manhattan shoreline views on July 4.
  • Governors Island for a ticketed premium view.

Live coverage

If you don’t want the crowd, the event will also be broadcast live on NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock on July 4.

Quick note

This is part of the Sail4th 250 celebration for America’s 250th anniversary, so it’s a one-time, big-scale harbor event rather than a regular annual parade.
