Justin Trudeau became prime minister of Canada on November 4, 2015, when he and his first cabinet were officially sworn in at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.

He had led the Liberal Party to a majority victory in the federal election held a couple of weeks earlier, on October 19, 2015, defeating the incumbent Conservative government of Stephen Harper.
