when was andrew trade envoy
Prince Andrew became the UK’s trade envoy (formally “Special Representative for International Trade and Investment”) in 2001 and stepped down from that role in July 2011.
He was brought into the role with the agreement of the then Foreign Secretary and Trade and Industry Secretary in 2001, as part of a push to promote British business and exports overseas. His decade as trade envoy ended in 2011 after mounting controversy, including criticism over his links to Jeffrey Epstein and questions about his judgment in the conduct of official business.
