Jeffrey Epstein was never convicted on the 2019 federal sex trafficking charges because he died in jail awaiting trial on those counts in August 2019. He was, however, previously convicted in a 2008 Florida state case, when he pleaded guilty in June 2008 to soliciting prostitution and soliciting a minor for prostitution and received an 18‑month sentence.
