The Dodgers franchise was founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York.

They began as a Brooklyn club that would later evolve through several nicknames (including the Atlantics, Grays, Bridegrooms, and others) before eventually becoming known as the Brooklyn Dodgers and then moving to Los Angeles in 1958.
