where are the shards to thaw out in genshin impact
Here are the shard spots in Genshin Impact ’s “Thaw All the Shards Out” quest in Dragonspine:
- Snow-Covered Path : the first shard is just past the area the quest sends you to, near the Frostbearing Tree area.
- Starglow Cavern : the second shard is deep inside the cave after you get through the challenge/barrier.
- Entombed City Outskirts / Wyrmrest Valley area : the third shard is underground, reached after solving the nearby puzzle and defeating the enemies.
To thaw each one, break nearby Scarlet Quartz crystals, grab the red aura, then hit the shard while the effect is active.
How to find them
- Go to the quest marker in Snow-Covered Path and melt the shard there.
- Head to Starglow Cavern , drop into the cave entrance/hole, clear the challenge, then thaw the shard.
- Go to the Entombed City Outskirts side, solve the puzzle to reach the underground shard, then use Scarlet Quartz to break it.
Quick note
Some guides describe the third shard as being closer to Wyrmrest Valley because that’s the area you usually approach from, but it’s still part of the Entombed City Outskirts quest section.
