where are your adenoids
Your adenoids are located high in your throat, behind your nose, in the upper part of your airway called the nasopharynx.
They sit:
- Just behind the nasal passages.
- On the roof and back wall of the nasopharynx (where the nose blends into the throat).
- Above the soft palate, so you can’t see them by looking in your mouth like you can with tonsils.
In simple terms: if you go straight back from your nose toward your throat, that’s where your adenoids are. They’re a small patch of lymphoid tissue that helps trap germs coming in through the nose and mouth.
