where are your lats on your body
Your lats (latissimus dorsi muscles) are the big, wide muscles that cover most of the mid‑ to lower back on both sides.
They start down in the lower back and along the back of the pelvis and ribs, then sweep up and out to tuck into the upper arm bone, just under the armpit.
When flexed, they’re what give that “V‑shape” from your shoulders down to your waist.
Think of them as the “wing” muscles on your back that help you pull things toward you, like during pull‑ups, rows, or swimming strokes.
