where did katherine johnson study

Katherine Johnson studied at West Virginia State College (now West Virginia State University), a historically Black college in Institute, West Virginia.

She first attended the high school located on the West Virginia State College campus, then enrolled in the college itself and completed every math course available. She graduated in 1937 with highest honors/summa cum laude, earning degrees in mathematics and French from West Virginia State College.
