Avondale, Arizona is a city in Maricopa County in central Arizona, in the southwestern United States. It sits just west of Phoenix, roughly 15–20 miles from downtown Phoenix along Interstate 10, in the Salt River Valley near the Gila River on the edge of the Sonoran Desert.
