where is baku

Baku is the capital city of Azerbaijan , located on the western shore of the Caspian Sea on the southern side of the Absheron Peninsula, in the South Caucasus region between Europe and Asia.

It sits slightly below sea level (about 28 meters or 92 feet), which makes it one of the lowest-lying national capitals in the world.
