where is haifa

Haifa is a major coastal city in northwestern Israel, on the Mediterranean Sea, built on and around the slopes of Mount Carmel and the Bay of Haifa. It lies in the northern part of the country, roughly 90 km (about 55–56 miles) north of Tel Aviv, and serves as Israel’s principal seaport and the main urban center of the northern region.
