where to find floaters fallout 76

You can reliably farm Floaters in Fallout 76 at several fixed spawn points across the map, especially in Toxic Valley, Savage Divide, the Mire, and Cranberry Bog.

Main Floater farming spots

These locations consistently spawn groups of Floaters and are great for challenges like “Kill a Floater” or for farming pus sacs and junk.

  • Big Maw (The Mire): Around 6 Floaters spawn in the forested area; it’s one of the densest Floater spots.
  • Lake Eloise (Savage Divide south): About 6 Floaters around the lake and campsite island; run a loop if they don’t trigger immediately.
  • Solomon’s Pond (near Whitespring): Several Floaters spawn near the house and pond; another can spawn by the nearby bridge.
  • Veiled Sundew Grove (Cranberry Bog): Up to 6 Floaters along the inner paths toward the center of the grove.
  • Big B’s Rest Stop: Around 3 Floaters in the area near the station and parking lot.
  • Old Mold Quarry: Around 3 Floaters around the quarry rim; you may need to circle the edge to trigger them.
  • West Tek Research Center: Roughly 3 Floaters around the base of the satellite tower east of the spawn point.
  • Spruce Knob Channels: 4 Floaters near the water and small islands; walk through the water to trigger them.
  • Lake Eloise, Solomon’s Pond, and Big Maw are usually cited as the best “hit all three in a route” farming trio.

Extra static spawn locations

These also frequently have Floaters (often 3 each). Server hopping between them is very effective.

  • Red Rocket Filling Station (Ash Heap)
  • Nicholson’s End
  • Huntersville
  • Safe n Clean Disposal (near Whitespring)
  • Darling Sisters’ Lab (NW Toxic Valley)
  • Willard Corporate Housing (by Wavy Willard’s Water Park)
  • General Steakhouse (Cranberry Bog)
  • Southeast of Summersville / near Uncanny Caverns
  • Carson Family Bunker

Events and random encounters

If you just play normally, you’ll also see Floaters from:

  • Public events: Eviction Notice, Radiation Rumble, Safe and Sound (they can spawn as part of enemy waves).
  • Random “assault” encounters: Floaters vs. Scorched, Cultists, or Blood Eagles out in the world.
  • Camp/random encounter nodes: Floater hostile camps or Super Mutants “admiring” a Floater.

Simple farming loop example

If you want a fast, repeatable route for “where to find Floaters Fallout 76,” try:

  1. Fast travel to Solomon’s Pond, clear Floaters around the house and pond.
  2. Jump to Lake Eloise, clear the island and camps.
  3. Move to Big Maw, clear the woods for a big pack.
  4. Optionally add Veiled Sundew Grove and West Tek to extend the loop.
  5. Server hop and repeat if spawns are missing or already killed.

This route gives you lots of Floaters of all three types (Flamer, Freezer, Gnasher) and a steady stream of pus sacs, acid, adhesive, oil, and crystal.
