You can find iguanas in RDR2 mainly in New Austin , along the San Luis River and around Rio Bravo/Gaptooth Ridge. If you haven’t unlocked that area yet, the easiest early-game spot is the large island east of Flat Iron Lake, west of Rhodes/Clemens Point.

Best spots

• New Austin: best overall area, especially near the San Luis River and south/western desert regions.

• Island west of Rhodes: good option in story mode before New Austin is available.

• Guarma: green iguanas can also be found there during Chapter 5.

Fast hunting tip

Use a Varmint Rifle for a clean kill, and check near water during the day. If they’re not spawning, move a short distance away, sleep, or return later to refresh the area.

Extra note

For the map you’re likely after, head to the largest island east of Flat Iron Lake and search near the wrecked ship and sandy shoreline.

TL;DR: Go to the island west of Rhodes for an easy early-game iguana, or New Austin for the best long-term hunting spots.
