who created persepolis

Persepolis was created by Iranian-French author and artist Marjane Satrapi.

She first created Persepolis as a series of autobiographical graphic novels about her childhood and youth in Iran during and after the Islamic Revolution. Later, she also co-wrote and co-directed the animated film adaptation of Persepolis, again as the original creator of the story and visuals.
