who created the modern periodic table?

The modern periodic table was created by the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. He arranged the known elements in order of increasing atomic weight and noticed repeating (periodic) patterns in their properties, which led him to group similar elements together in a table-like format. He was bold enough to leave empty spaces where no element was yet known and even predicted the properties of several of these “missing” elements, which were later discovered and matched his forecasts closely. Because of this successful framework, Mendeleev is widely credited as the founder of the periodic system that evolved into the modern periodic table used today.
