who invented silly putty

The invention of Silly Putty is usually credited to James Wright , a Scottish-born engineer at General Electric who accidentally created it in 1943 while trying to develop a synthetic rubber substitute during World War II. However, some historical accounts note that other researchers, such as Earl Warrick at Dow Corning, also developed very similar silicone putties around the same time, so credit is sometimes described as disputed.
