who invented the theory of relativity

Albert Einstein developed the theory of relativity.

He first introduced special relativity in 1905, which reshaped ideas about space, time, and motion. Between 1907 and 1915 he then developed general relativity, a new theory of gravitation that showed how mass and energy curve spacetime.
