who is the first person to land on moon

The first person to land on the Moon (and the first to walk on its surface) was American astronaut Neil Armstrong , during NASA’s Apollo 11 mission on July 20, 1969.

He was the mission commander of Apollo 11, and after the lunar module Eagle touched down in the Sea of Tranquility, he stepped onto the lunar surface before Buzz Aldrin, making him the first human to walk on the Moon.
