Groundhog Day is celebrated every year on February 2 in the United States and Canada.

It’s a long-standing tradition where a groundhog—most famously Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania—emerges from its burrow to “predict” the weather for the next six weeks based on whether it sees its shadow.
