A typical “wallet size” photo is small enough to fit in a card slot, and there are two common standards people mean when they ask this:

  • Very commonly: about 2 x 3 inches (roughly 5.1 x 7.6 cm).
  • Also widely used in many wallets/photo packs: about 2.5 x 3.5 inches (roughly 6.35 x 8.9 cm).

So if you just need a quick answer for printing or ordering, use 2 x 3 inches as the safe “classic” wallet size, unless your printer or wallet brand specifically says they’re designed around 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
