To see your YouTube Recap, you normally access it either from within the YouTube app or by going to a special recap link in your browser.

How to see your YouTube Recap

  • Update the YouTube app on your phone to the latest version so the Recap feature is available.
  • Open the app and:
    • Either a Recap story-style popup appears automatically, or
    • Tap the You or profile tab at the bottom, then tap the banner that says something like “Your Recap is here!” to start watching it.
  • On desktop or in a mobile browser, you can also go to youtube.com/recap (or m.youtube.com/recap on mobile) while logged into your account, which should trigger your Recap and open it in the app or browser.

If your Recap isn’t showing

Sometimes the banner does not appear even when others are getting their Recaps.

You can try the following:

  1. Make sure you are logged into the correct Google/YouTube account that you used all year.
  1. Manually visit youtube.com/recap (desktop) or m.youtube.com/recap (mobile) in a browser and then choose to open in the YouTube app if prompted.
  1. Confirm your app is updated and try closing/reopening it or signing out and back in.

If you still do not see a Recap, it may not be available for your region or account yet, or your watch history may be limited (for example, if history has been paused much of the year).
