Nick and Vanessa Lachey first met in the early 2000s on MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL), where Vanessa was a host and Nick regularly appeared as a musical guest with 98 Degrees and to promote his reality show with Jessica Simpson. Their relationship didn’t actually turn romantic until 2006, when Nick invited Vanessa to play his love interest in the music video for his breakup song “What’s Left of Me,” and the chemistry from that project led them to start dating soon after.
