To change Alexa’s location, open the Alexa app, go to Devices , select your Echo device, then open Device Location and update the address, city, state, and ZIP code before saving it.

Steps

  1. Open the Alexa app on your phone or tablet.
  1. Tap Devices and choose the Alexa device you want to update.
  1. Find Device Location in the device settings.
  1. Enter the new full address and tap Save.
  1. If needed, update the country or time zone too.

Why it matters

Changing the location helps Alexa give correct weather, time, traffic, and other location-based info.

If it still looks wrong

  • Make sure you updated the location for the correct device, especially if you have more than one Echo.
  • Double-check that the address is complete and matches the right country.
