To delete games on Steam, you usually have two choices: uninstall them from your PC, or remove the game license from your account. Steam community guidance says the account-removal option is done through Steam Support and is effectively a more advanced hide, not a true permanent erase of stats or achievements.

Uninstall a game

  1. Open Steam and go to Library.
  2. Right-click the game.
  3. Select Manage.
  4. Click Uninstall.

That removes the game files from your computer, but the game still stays in your Steam account and can be reinstalled later.

Remove it from your account

  1. Go to Steam Support.
  2. Find the game under Games, Software, etc.
  3. Choose I want to permanently remove this game from my account.

Steam community posts note that this removal can be restored later through support, and it does not erase achievements or XP.

Helpful note

If your goal is just to free up space, uninstalling is the simplest option. If your goal is to clean up your library, the support removal route is the one people use.
