Eid prayer itself is usually very short — about 10 to 20 minutes in many mosques, and the full Eid gathering often lasts around 30 minutes once the sermon is included.

Typical timing

  • The prayer is performed after sunrise and before noon/zawaal, depending on local mosque scheduling.
  • The two rak‘ahs are brief, but the extra takbirs and recitation make it a little longer than a regular prayer.
  • If the khutbah is included, plan for about half an hour total.

Simple rule of thumb

  • Prayer only: 10–20 minutes.
  • Prayer + khutbah: 20–30 minutes.
  • With arrival, parking, and leaving: often 30–45 minutes overall.

Practical note

Because Eid prayer times vary by community, it is best to arrive early and expect the whole event to take a bit longer than the prayer itself.
