A good rule of thumb is 1/4 to 1/3 pound per person for boneless ham and 1/3 to 1/2 pound per person for bone-in ham. If you want leftovers, plan a little extra.

Quick guide

  • Boneless ham: about 1/4 to 1/3 lb per person.
  • Bone-in ham: about 1/3 to 1/2 lb per person.
  • Want leftovers? Buy closer to the higher end.

Easy example

For 10 people , that works out to roughly:

  • Boneless: 2.5 to 3.3 lb
  • Bone-in: 3.3 to 5 lb
