Members of the U.S. House of Representatives are elected every two years , in each even‑numbered year, for two‑year terms that all expire at the same time. This means:

  • Elections happen in every even year (for example, 2024, 2026, 2028, etc.).
  • All 435 House seats are on the ballot in those elections.
  • If a seat becomes vacant early (for example, a member resigns), a special election is usually held, but the winner only serves out the remainder of that same two‑year term.
