To add photos to the Hidden album on iPhone, open Photos , select the photos you want, tap the three dots or share menu, then choose Hide and confirm. The photos will move into the Hidden album, which you can find in Photos > Albums > Utilities > Hidden and unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode if enabled.

Quick steps

  1. Open the Photos app.
  2. Select one photo or tap Select to choose multiple photos.
  3. Tap the three dots or share icon.
  4. Tap Hide.
  5. Confirm with Hide Photo or Hide Photos.

Find the Hidden album

  • Open Photos.
  • Go to Albums.
  • Scroll to Utilities.
  • Tap Hidden and authenticate if prompted.

If Hidden is missing

If you do not see the Hidden album, turn it on in Settings > Photos or use Customize and Reorder in Photos so Utilities is visible.

Privacy note

The Hidden album is protected by device authentication on newer iPhones, so it adds a privacy layer rather than deleting the photo.
