Quick Scoop
In Deltarune, the clearest way to tell whether you have
an Egg is to check Kris’s **key items** inventory. The Egg is a recurring
secret key item, and once you obtain it, it sits in the inventory until
something removes it, like the fridge interaction in Asgore’s house.
How to check
- Open the inventory or key items menu.
- Look for an item labeled “Egg.”
- If it is there, you have an Egg; if it is not, you do not currently have one.
Important detail
The game does not appear to give a simple universal
counter for “how many eggs” you have in every chapter. Some discussion
suggests later chapter dialogue may react to whether you have collected
earlier eggs, but the item itself is still checked through the inventory.
What the Egg does
The Egg can be “used,” but it has no obvious
effect, so its main purpose is as a secret collectible. In at least one known
case, it can also be put into Asgore’s fridge, which changes the fridge text
and removes the Egg from your inventory.
Practical tip
If you are unsure whether you lost it, check both your
key items and any place where the game may have consumed or moved it,
especially the fridge scene. If you never saw the Egg message after
interacting with the hidden man, then you probably declined it or never
reached that room.
TL;DR
Check Kris’s key items menu for “Egg.” If it is listed there,
you have one; if it is missing, you do not.
