how to check what windos i hav e
Here’s the quickest way to check what Windows you have:
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Go to System.
- Click About.
- Look under Windows specifications for:
- Edition : Windows 10 Home, Pro, Windows 11, etc.
- Version : the Windows release.
- OS build : the build number.
Faster method
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type winver and press Enter.
- A window will pop up showing your Windows version and edition.
Another option
- Open Start , type System Information or msinfo32 , and open it.
- You can also use Command Prompt or PowerShell with
systeminfoto see the OS name and version.
A simple example: if About says Windows 11 Pro , then that’s your edition; the Version and OS build tell you exactly which release you’re on.
If you want, I can also show you how to check whether your PC is 32-bit or 64-bit.
