You usually get drops from previous Destiny 2 DLCs by playing the content tied to that expansion : story missions, campaigns, strikes, dungeons, raids, and activities that use that loot pool. Older expansions often also gate certain exotics behind specific sources, and some past-season rewards can be claimed through Bungie’s Season Progress page if they were only missed from the most recent season.

What this means

  • Expansion weapons and armor : farm the expansion’s associated activities, such as campaign missions, raids, dungeons, or repeatable playlist rewards tied to that DLC.
  • Older exotic weapons : some are now obtained from the Monument to Lost Lights using Spoils of Conquest or similar legacy currencies rather than direct world drops. Spoils of Conquest come from raids.
  • Season Pass rewards : the previous season’s unclaimed rewards can be claimed on Bungie’s Season Progress page, but older seasons generally need a browser workaround and are not officially supported.

Practical route

  1. Check which DLC you own, because content is still tied to the specific expansion.
  1. Run the DLC’s campaign and endgame activities for its loot pool.
  1. For exotics from past DLCs, use the Monument to Lost Lights or Rahool’s exotic focusing system where applicable.
  1. If you missed recent seasonal rewards, claim them from the official Season Progress page.

Important caveat

Some very old Destiny 2 content was vaulted, so not every “previous DLC” drop is still obtainable in the game today.

TL;DR: previous-DLC drops usually come from that DLC’s own activities, while older exotics and missed season rewards may need legacy vendors or Bungie’s reward-claim pages.
