Roblox on Xbox One lets you customize a friend’s name only through Roblox’s profile/friends features, not through the Xbox system itself. The nickname is private to you and won’t change their actual account name.

How to do it

  1. Open Roblox and go to your friend’s profile.
  2. Tap the three dots near chat or profile options.
  3. Choose Customize Name.
  4. Enter the nickname you want and save it.
This feature is meant to help you recognize friends more easily, and it only shows on your account.

On Xbox One

If you’re using Roblox on Xbox One, the easiest method is usually to sign into Roblox through a browser on the console or another device, since the nickname option may be easier to access there than inside the Xbox app itself. Xbox itself does not appear to have a built-in friend-nickname feature for this kind of profile labeling.

Notes

  • The nickname is visible only to you.
  • Roblox limits custom names to one per player and a maximum of 20 characters.
  • This is different from changing your own Roblox display name, which is a separate setting.

If you want, I can turn this into a very short “Quick Scoop” version for posting.
