Discord doesn’t really show a server emoji’s owner in a built-in, reliable way for everyone. In most cases, you can only find it by opening the emoji picker and checking the server groups one by one, or by having access to the server that uploaded it.

What to try

  • Open the emoji picker in Discord.
  • Look through the server-specific emoji sections.
  • If you know the emoji name, type it in the picker to narrow it down.
  • If the emoji is being used in a message, some Discord clients may show its source server when you click it, but that isn’t always available to everyone.

Important limit

Discord community reports say there’s no easy universal “show me which server this emote belongs to” button for normal users. The usual workaround is manual searching through your server list or checking the server where you suspect it came from.

Quick note

If you mean a custom emoji from a server you’re in, the fastest path is usually the emoji picker plus the server list on the side. If you mean an emoji used in chat and you want the exact server source, that may depend on your Discord client and permissions.
