You can’t turn off Roblox’s chat moderation or text filtering in private servers. Roblox states that chat/privacy/filtering protections still apply, and developer forum guidance says disabling the chat filter is not allowed, even in private servers.

What you can control

In a private server, you can manage who joins, invite specific people, and configure access restrictions. Roblox’s private server settings let you rename the server, set allowed players, and cancel the subscription if needed.

Safer alternatives

  • Use a private server with only trusted friends.
  • Adjust who can chat with you or join your experience through privacy settings.
  • If your goal is easier communication, use voice chat where available and still follow Roblox rules.

Important note

If you’re trying to remove moderation for custom text chat in your own game, that is also not something Roblox allows. The platform expects messages to remain filtered to protect users.

If you want, I can show you how to lock down a Roblox private server so only invited players can join.
