To turn off your online/active status on Tumblr, open the Tumblr app or website, go to Settings , then open Privacy , and switch off “Let others see that you’re active.” That hides the green active indicator from other users.

Mobile steps

  1. Open Tumblr and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap the settings/gear icon.
  3. Go to Account settings or General/Global settings.
  4. Tap Privacy.
  5. Turn off “Let others see that you’re active.”

Desktop steps

  1. Open Tumblr settings.
  2. Find Availability or the active-status option.
  3. Toggle it off so it turns gray.

What changes

  • Other people won’t see the green dot or active indicator.
  • You can still stay logged in and use Tumblr normally.
  • On some older app versions, the option may be easier to find on desktop first.
