To turn off Roblox global chat on mobile, open the Roblox app, tap More , go to Settings , then Privacy and Content Restrictions > Communication , and set Experience Chat and Direct Chat to No one/Off. That disables the main chat options on the account, including in- experience chat and direct messages.

  5. Tap Communication.
  6. Set Experience Chat to No one/Off.

If you only want to mute chat

Some experiences may still show UI elements differently, but Roblox’s account privacy settings are the main way to block chat from mobile. If a specific game still seems to show chat-related UI, that can be an in-game setting from the experience itself rather than Roblox’s account-wide chat control.

Roblox community posts also indicate there is no separate universal “global chat off” switch for every experience; the practical method is to use the account communication/privacy controls.
