En español, “there is” se dice “hay”.

  • “There is a dog in the garden” → “Hay un perro en el jardín”.
  • “There is a lot of milk in the fridge” → “Hay mucha leche en la nevera”.

La misma palabra “hay” se usa también para “there are”, tanto en afirmaciones como en preguntas.
