what about me original singer

The original singer of the song “What About Me” (the one later famously covered by Shannon Noll) is the Australian rock band Moving Pictures, with Alex Smith as the lead vocalist.
The song was written by Garry Frost and Frances Swan and first released on Moving Pictures’ debut album Days of Innocence in 1981, then as a single in early 1982. It became a number-one hit in Australia and later gained renewed popularity when Shannon Noll released his cover in 2004.
Note: There is also a different song titled “What About Me?” recorded by Kenny Rogers with Kim Carnes and James Ingram in 1984, but that is a separate track with different writers and is not the one Noll covered.
